House Assembly 03.05.24

Dear Families

Another wonderful week has passed and the learning is oozing from the classrooms. Year 5 have started rehearsing for the Northants Festival which will be held at the Royal and Derngate, Year 4’s artwork for our Take one Picture project is looking sublime and Year 6 are working extremely hard studying for their end of key stage assessments (SATS) – not long to go now.

It was lovely to see so many families join us for Walk in Wednesday which this time was science themed and I do hope you enjoyed seeing our Earth day creations.

House Assembly

The week started with our termly House Assembly where the children learnt all about Kindness. We are so pleased with how the children have embraced our House system and the community feel is fantastic. Please do encourage your child to wear their house badge to school.

Our next big house event will be our Sports Days.

Welcome to our new families for September 2024

It is that time of year again where we learn about all of the new children and their families that will be joining us in September. We are really excited for our Reception 2024 cohort and already have lots of lovely things planned. We actually have a handful of spaces left so if you know of any children who would like a place here in September, please ask their guardians to contact our school office for advice.

Children’s News

Have you seen our new Children’s newsletter?

Alongside this weekly newsletter which is for our families we have also launched a newsletter just for children. It is something that you might want to print off and read together at home. It covers topical issues and is often linked to the things that we have been learning about in class. A great way to get talking with your children.

Phonics information Evening

Last week, the Year 1 team held a Phonics Check information evening for families which talked them through what the Phonics Checks are, why they are important and what parents/carers can do to support their child. If you were unable to attend, please do speak to your child’s class teacher for more information. Please let me know if there is ever an information evening that you would like that we currently do not offer.

Survey

We have launched our annual Parent Survey again which collects your views on how we are doing as a school. Your opinion is very important to us and we will share the outcome of the survey in our final, special edition newspaper. You can access the survey by clicking here until 20th May at 11.59pm.

Change Markers and Houses 10p coin update

Thank you to everyone who contributed a 10p or two to our 10p trail! The coins have been counted and I am grateful to share with you that we raised an amazing £550 which is going to go towards our Change Maker Project of having a quiet space on the playground. Does the company you work for provide Match Funding? If so, we’d love to double our total. Please contact Miss Welch directly or via the school office if you can help.

Holidays

PLEASE, please do not book holidays in term time as they cannot be authorised.

Finally, enjoy the extended bank holiday weekend everyone! Let’s hope the sun shines and I look forward to see you on Tuesday!
