Our School Day

Our school day is carefully structured to ensure that every child feels calm, supported and ready to learn.

It is very important that all children arrive at school on time. Lessons for mainstream classes begin promptly at 8:45am, so children should arrive by 8:30am. This allows valuable time to settle into the classroom, complete morning tasks and be fully prepared to start learning at 8:45. Persistent lateness will be monitored and addressed by the school in partnership with families.

On arrival, children will be warmly greeted by a member of staff at the classroom door. Each classroom provides a welcoming environment, with calming music and a clear visual timetable to help guide children through the day ahead.

Breaktimes and lunchtimes are staggered slightly to ensure the day runs smoothly and safely for everyone.

Children in Years 5 and 6 may walk to and from school if permission has been granted by both school and home. All other year groups must be dropped off and collected at the classroom door by an agreed and nominated trusted adult aged 18 or over. Children who have successfully completed their Bikeability training are permitted to ride their bikes to school, provided they wear a helmet.
