Christmas Events 12.12.25

Dear Families

Before I get into the main newsletter, I wanted to let you know about some staffing changes…

Firstly, our most wonderful Mrs Green, who works with our reception children, will be leaving us in January to be a Finance Assistant at another school. This is a role she is familiar with and I know that she will be amazing at.

Mrs Green has been absolutely amazing in our reception classes and we are all going to miss her very much.

Also, our Site Supervisor, Steve Foster, will be officially hanging up his keys on Friday 9th January. Steve has decided to retire and enjoy time with his family. Thank you Steve for all of the help and support you have given our whole school.

We are also saying good bye to Jo Weatherly who works in The Hive and Jamie, a lunchtime supervisor, who is leaving us to start teacher training. Thank you both for the amazing work you have done with and for our children.

I will update you on new staff appointments in the coming weeks.

Christmas Fair

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Christmas fete on Saturday – thank you for supporting it. I am thrilled to share that we raised a whopping £2213. Thank you to the FEHPS for organising and running such a successful event!

Assembly - Poetry Celebration & Christmas Sing-Along

This week began with joy and creativity as Monday’s assembly gave our children the chance to perform the poems they have been learning in class. Performance poetry is an important part of our curriculum because it develops confidence, expression and a love of language.

The children absolutely shone, and the assembly finished with a whole-school Christmas sing-along that lifted everyone’s spirits and set us all firmly on the countdown to Christmas!

Year 5 & Red Class Trip to the National Space Centre

Year 5 and Red Class had an unforgettable visit to the National Space Centre this week. The trip was a perfect complement to their science learning, allowing the children to deepen their understanding through exciting, hands-on experiences. From exploring rockets to discovering how astronauts live in space, the children were fully immersed in their learning from start to finish. Their behaviour was exemplary throughout, and it was brilliant to lead such an inclusive trip with children from both The Hive and our mainstream classes. They represented our school beautifully – we were very impressed.

Year 2 & Green Class Assembly – A Proud Moment

Our Year 2 children and Green Class treated us to a truly fantastic assembly. Their confidence, storytelling and enthusiasm were exceptional and it was wonderful to see how much they have grown. Moments like these remind us just how special our children are – watching them shine on stage will always be one of the highlights of school life.

Reception Nativity – A Magical Performance

Our Reception children melted hearts with their beautiful nativity performance. It is hard to believe they are only 4 and 5 years old – the acting, singing and dancing were simply superb. There wasn’t a dry eye in the hall! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the joy they brought to everyone who watched.

Year 6 Christmas Craft Workshop

This week also saw our Year 6 Christmas Craft Workshop, where children and families came together to create festive decorations for their home Christmas trees. It was a lovely opportunity to slow down, get creative and enjoy a sing-song together. Thank you to everyone who took part in making the afternoon so heart-warming.

Community Art Exhibition – ‘Who Are You in Your Mask?’

This evening, a group of children from both the mainstream and Specialist Unit will have their artwork showcased as part of the Who Are You in Your Mask? community project in Kettering. This inclusive project has enabled children to explore their identities, creativity and brilliance. We are enormously proud of them and delighted that their work will be exhibited for the wider community to enjoy.

Looking Ahead – Final Week of Term

We are approaching the final week of term, and on the last day we will hold our whole-school Celebration Assembly. If your child has earned any special medals, awards or certificates outside of school, please do send them in so we can celebrate their achievements together.

Thank you for your ongoing support and for helping to make this term such a positive and successful one.

Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to a brilliant final week before the Christmas break.
