It's Christmas! 19.12.25

Dear Families

Reminder: Please ensure that you set parental controls and limit screen time on digital devices (I know I keep mentioning but it is so important!)

Reflection

As we reach the end of the autumn term, I want to take a moment to reflect on what a truly fantastic few months it has been. From exciting trips and residentials to brilliant learning opportunities across the school, our children have embraced every moment with enthusiasm and curiosity. Our community events, including the Spooktacular and our Christmas Fete, have shown once again that we are more than just a school – we are a vibrant, kind and supportive community.

Join Our Governing Body – Parent Governor Needed

Next term, we will be holding an election for a new Parent Governor to join our governing body. We will share more details in January, but we are particularly keen to hear from any parents with expertise in buildings, maintenance and/or finance. If this sounds like you - or someone you know - please do keep an eye out for further information.

End-of-Term Reports & Attendance Reminder

Children’s reports have gone out this week. If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything in more detail, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

We pride ourselves on keeping you well informed about your child’s progress.

However, a key part of helping them achieve their full potential is ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. We kindly ask that children arrive by 8:30am, ready for the day ahead. Lesson 1 begins promptly at 8:45am, so children should not be arriving at this time.

Carols by Twinkle Light – A Magical Evening

On Tuesday, we enjoyed our magical Carols by Twinkle Light. Thank you to everyone who joined us - it was a beautiful, heart-warming event that really captured the spirit of the season. The children were absolutely amazing and thank you to our wonderful Year 1 team for organising such a special evening.

Walk-in Wednesday & Christmas Crafts

Wednesday was our festive Walk-in Wednesday, where families joined their children for some wonderfully creative Christmas crafting. Thank you to all who were able to attend. It was fantastic to see so many imaginative, sparkly and colourful creations taking shape in classrooms across the school!

Year 6 & Yellow Class – Carols & Crafts

Also on Wednesday, Year 6 and Yellow Class held their brilliant Carols & Crafts workshop. Families enjoyed hearing the children sing beautifully and getting stuck into making decorations for their Christmas trees. There was a lovely, festive atmosphere.

Party Day Success!

Thursday was PARTY DAY and what a day it was! From disco fun to games and giggles, the children had an unforgettable time. We even had a very special visit from Father Christmas himself, who brought along some super special presents. Huge thanks to FEHPS for helping make the day so memorable and possible. The array of Christmas jumpers on show was an added Christmassy treat!

Celebration Assembly – Ending the Week with Pride

Today we ended the week with our Celebration Assembly, which is always a privilege to lead. Well done to all the children who received a certificate, star or medal. Our Proud Points system is hugely important to us - it recognises not just achievement but kindness, effort and doing the right thing every day. It is wonderful to see the children wear their stars with pride and post their golden tickets with big smiles.

A Very Special Staff Panto!

To top off the week, the children were treated to a very special staff pantomime – Peter Pancake, Captain Cook and the Christmas Star! From laughter to surprises, the performance brought absolute joy to the hall. A heartfelt thank you to all staff involved for giving up their time and energy to create magical memories for the children. As Headteacher, I am truly lucky to lead such an exceptional team who always, always put your children at the centre of everything they do.

Christmas Wishes & Start of Spring Term

As we head into the Christmas break, I want to thank all of our families for your continued support, encouragement and partnership this term. Please note that Monday 5th January is a staff training day, so children will return to school on Tuesday 6th January.

During the break, please be mindful if contacting staff as this is an important time for them to rest and spend time with their families.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.

We look forward to welcoming you back in 2025!

Right… I am off to find the mince pies

Happy Christmas

Ms Pennington
