Bring on the Christmas Cheer! 08.12.23

Dear Families

Well, with 1 week and 3 days to go until we break up for the Christmas holidays, we still have so much planned and to get through. Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair on Saturday 2nd – FEHPS raised a whopping £1650 – every penny of which will go to your child’s education including their learning environment.

Christmas Assembly

The week started with a brilliant assembly led by Vicar Griff all about the Christmas story. The children learnt about the true story of Christmas and loved the audience participation - don’t forget to visit St Benedict’s to see our House Christmas Tree display and read some of our beautiful Christmas Wishes.

Year 4 Musical recital

Last week was a very special week for our budding Year 4 musicians. On Thursday they performed their clarinets to a wonderful audience made up of friends and families. We were treated to songs such as the Cha, Cha, Cha and Christmas Time. Every Year 4 child has had the opportunity to learn a musical instrument which is all part of our commitment to ensuring every child learns an instrument by the time they leave EHPS alongside our partnership with NMPAT.

As a clarinettist myself, if was brilliant to see the children enjoy this process so much and thank you to all of the families who supported this project. Did you know we have quite a few teachers who can play a musical instrument… can you guess who they are?

Bring on the Christmas Cheer!

Next week we go into full Christmas mode with our Reception Nativity, trip to West Lodge Farm, Year 2 and Purple class’ assembly, Year 1 and Green class’ Carols by Twinklelight and so much more. We also have our Christmas dinner on Wednesday 13th.

Meet the Change Makers!

We are proud to announce our 13 Change Makers. After a tough application process, 12 children were selected to become our school change makers. They will be working with Miss Welch on a project that will bring about positive change to our school. Last Tuesday, our Change Makers met with Miss Welch and Natasha, from UoN, to begin their discussions and launch the project. This is a great initiative for us to be involved in and I look forward to reporting about the changes they propose to make and how they get on when they have to eventually present their project to the University of Northampton. Thank you to Miss Welch for organising and overseeing this great opportunity for our children.

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree…

On Wednesday, Mrs Halsall and Mrs Debono took our House Captains to St Benedict’s Church to decorate our house trees. The stars on which the children wrote their wishes on were hung on the House trees ready for the Christmas Tree Festival this weekend. Why not pop along and pay a visit to see our House Christmas trees in situ (St Benedict’s Church Hunsbury Hill Rd, Northampton NN4 9UG) on Saturday 9th December between 2.00pm – 4.00pm.

Don't forget.....

18th December is Christmas Party Day and children can come into school in their Christmas jumpers and party wear (no high heels please!) They are also allowed to bring in non-electronic games (but PLEASE name them and children are to be responsible for them – so no precious family heirlooms please).

Are you able to give the gift of a book to our school library this Christmas? If so… please click on this link to purchase one which will come straight to us in school.

Check out our Facebook page too for a Christmas book advent spectacular…

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
