Dear Families
A brilliantly busy final week here at EHPS. The time seems to be flying by. Thank you to everyone who has attended a sports day, performance or an event. It is hard to believe we are nearly into the final half term of the academic year but I know that it will be a brilliant one.
Assembly
We started the week with our important termly Celebration Assembly where we congratulated all of the children for doing so well over the past term. We handed out badges, certificates and cups all of which related to the children doing their very best and collecting proud points. Seeing the children proud of themselves and each other is a delight and a special congratulations goes to our Community Cup Champions who get nominated by their peers and chosen by the Year Group Staff… well done to the following children:
RAM - Tobias RFL/RS - Zachary
1CL - Melysa 1ES - Bertie
2HF - Viraj 2DW - Imogen
3AP - Arthur 3CW - Harriet
4AG - Olivia-Grace 4CH - Sophie E
5KR - Ronnie 5JF - Scarlett
6BC - Eduard 6EN/CL - Freya
SU KS1 - George SU KS2 - Orange - Elijah
Soon, we will be choosing our new Headteacher For The Day from the golden tickets – more information about this to follow soon.
Perfect Performances
On Monday, some of our Year 5 children went to the Derngate to showcase their scene in Henry V as part of our collaborative work with NPAT, RSC and Silhouette. The children performed a dance, an original song that they composed and a rousing scene from the Battle of Harfleur. The level of talent and extraordinary execution was astounding and demonstrated so well just how brilliant our children are! Well done to everyone involved including Mrs Robinson, who oversaw the production and children. We are so proud.
World Cultural Diversity Day
On Wednesday, it was World Cultural Diversity Day and, as a school who celebrates difference, promotes tolerance and is proud to be a multicultural and diverse school, we wanted to mark the day.
It was wonderful to see children come to school wearing something that represented them and spending time during the day talking and sharing our words, heritage and cultures. A great day to develop belonging and understanding of our community. There are some lovely photos further on in this newsletter.
And we are off!
On Thursday, reception and Year 6 kicked off our Sports Days with their wonderful event and we are so lucky that the weather was kind to us.
Believe it or not, lots goes into organising such an event and it was a joy to see the children having a brilliant time and especially enjoying the house races. If you are unsure of when your child’s sports day is, please ask their class teacher.
Governor Monitoring
Today, was our third and final Governor monitoring morning for the year and again it was very successful. Governors visited classrooms and looked at work. They provide us (especially me) with a great level of challenge to help us reflect whether we are doing our absolute best for the children in our care. You can find out more about our Governing Body by clicking here.
Again, please complete the Parent Survey if you haven’t already as this would be incredibly helpful in enabling us to reflect and refine what we do here at EHPS.
I hope you have a lovely half term break. School reopens on Tuesday 3rd June as Monday 2nd June is a training day.
Have a lovely weekend
Ms Pennington
