Dear Families
It is our final FULL week of the academic year 2024-2025 and because we only have 2 days to go until we break up, this will be our last newsletter! Where has the time gone?
Kindness is Spreading
We are still on Cloud 9 having received the amazing award of being the nation’s Kindest School! Did you see us on ITV This Morning? Did you hear us on BBC Radio Northampton yesterday and did you know we have been invited to the Houses of Parliament? Also, on Wednesday, when ITV were in we gave them some kindness bees… look where they have ended up? Jodie Prenger's Instagram account AND 10 Downing Street!!

Poetry Assembly
At EHPS we love poetry and it is expertly led by Mrs Robinson. As part of our English curriculum, every year group learns a poem and, this week, in assembly, they performed them. The following year groups performed these poems:
- Plant a little seed - Yr 1
- Queue for the Zoo Yr 2
- The Owl & the Pussy Cat - Yr 3
- If - Yr 4
- A Feather from an Angel - Yr 4
- Jabberwocky - Yr 5
- The Road not Taken - Yr 6
Oracy, performance and being able to listen and speak well are key skills of life which we are pleased we are committed to developing in our young people.
Brilliance Exhibition
Did you come to our Brilliance Exhibition? Across the school, from Tuesday to Thursday, our brilliant children displayed a piece of brilliant work which they are (rightly) very proud of.
It was inspirational to walk through the school and see such amazing work from pieces of writing and maths to art, PE and DT! Well done to our exhibitors and I hope that each and every one of them was able to see their true brilliance. There are lots of photos later in this newsletter.
Reports
Also this week, your child’s end of year report was sent out. I hope that you found it useful but if you do have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher before the end of term.
Headteacher and Deputy Head for the Day
Well done to Anastasia & the House Captains who led the school today (I was their not-so-glamorous assistant). Sadly, our Headteacher, Sara, wasn’t able to be with us but we are thankful for the super day she organised - from cloud watching to golden time – the children had a wonderful day.
Sara and Anastastia’s Golden Tickets were picked out randomly as part of our new Proud Point reward – well done! I can see my job is at risk and I wonder who will get picked next year?
SU Assembly
This week our Specialist Unit had their Leavers’ Assembly which was a joy (and quite emotional). It was lovely to hear the wonderful memories the children hold from their time here at EHPS and hearing their friends share such kind messages. We are so proud of each and everyone of them.
Wizard of Oz
This week, Year 6 took to the stage and performed the musical: Wizard of Oz! Oh my goodness they were amazing – simply breathtaking. The standard of their performance was outstanding and a special mention to our Dorothy – Juan - who rose to the occasion and lit up the stage. All of our performers, and those involved in the set, lighting and props made the performance as magical as it was – WELL DONE EVERYONE!
A HUGE thank you to Katie Bunting from Limelight Theatre who came in to lead and direct the show and all of the staff who gave up their time to make it possible – especially the very dedicated Year 6 team and Mrs Heavens who has jumped in to help.
Enterprise
Last Friday, the Year 6 children became entrepreneurs as part of a project that they have been working on. They were each given £5 and in groups they had to design, purchase and lead a stall. They then got to keep any profits and use it towards a year group treat which they decided was leavers autograph books and pizza. Well done to Take your Lucky Shot who raised the most money as they made a whopping £53.96 profit and thank you to Mrs Heavens for organising it. I wonder if we will see some of them on Dragon’s Den soon.
Next week our Year 6s have their Leavers’ Party and Assembly before they get to say their final ‘good-byes.’ As both a Headteacher and a Mummy (who has been very proud to have her girls here in their final primary school years) I know that this will be an emotional time for children and their families. So, given that this is the last newsletter of 2025 I wanted to say – GOOD LUCK, work hard, be kind and keep believing in yourselves as we will always believe in you.

Assembly
We had our important termly Celebration Assembly where we congratulated all of the children for doing so well over the past term. We handed out badges, certificates and cups all of which related to the children doing their very best and collecting proud points. Seeing the children proud of themselves and each other is a delight and a special congratulations goes to our Community Cup Champions who get nominated by their peers and chosen by the Year Group Staff… well done to the following children:
The Nest - Nasra
SU KS 1 - Reuben
SU KS 2 - Joe J
RAM - Ava
RFLRS - Bobby
1CL - Samuel
1ES - Nicolae
2DW - Sahara
2HD - Amelia
3AP - Evelina
3CW - Marnie
4AG - Maizey
4CH - Jansen T
5KR - Alfie J
5JF - Clara J
6BC - Dorothy
6EN-CL - Erika
Next week
Next week, we will announce our House Winners, have a final Celebration Assembly and some children will get to have drinks and donuts with me on the lunchtime Top Table as they reached the magic 180 Proud Points. In September, we will start all over again. Children can keep their badges earnt this year but we ask that they don’t come into school but rather get pinned to a special cushion or teddy at home. This way, when they earn their new badge, we are able to celebrate it.
Final words…
Well, that’s a wrap as they say! 2 days left of the year and I wanted to thank you all for your continued support with your child’s educational journey.
It is a privilege and an honour to be your Headteacher but I simply couldn’t do my job without the incredible staff who work here. Each and everyone of them makes this ship sail in the right direction – I am very lucky to work with them. A special thank you, and ‘see you soon,’ to those staff who are leaving us and welcome to those who are joining us.
Enjoy your holiday and I will see you on September the 3rd when our school opens once again for another brilliant year!
Mrs Pennington
